چکیده
The present study was conducted to assess the effects of propolis flavonoid used as adjuvant on the immune response of Landrace-Yorkshire hybrid sows immunized with an inactivated vaccine of porcine parvovirus (PPV). Thirty Landrace-Yorkshire hybrid sows were randomly assigned to one of 3 groups, and the sows in two adjuvant groups were intramuscular injected PPV vaccine with 2.0 mL propolis flavonoid adjuvant (PA) or oilemulsion adjuvant (OA), respectively. After that, serum hemagglutination inhibition antibody titers, specific IgM, IgA and IgG subclasses were measured to estimate the humoral immunity for the adjuvant effects of propolis flavonoid, as well as peripheral lymphopoiesis activity, and lymphocyte factor concentrations of Th1 and Th2 for cellular immune responses. Results indicated in a significant enhancing effect of PA on concentrations of IgM, IgG2, IgG3, IL-2 and IFN-γ comparing to OA. Especially in improving the effect of Th1 cellular immune response, the PA was superior to OA. These findings suggested that PA can significantly enhance the immune responses against PPV vaccine and could be exploited to a new PPV vaccine in sows. Protective Efficacy of the Killed Toxoplasma gondii Vaccine in Nano-alum Adjuvant
Background and purpose: Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) as a causative agent of toxoplasmosis, is an obligate intracellular parasite which is excreted by the cat's feces. Efforts have been made for the development of toxoplasmosis vaccine, but none led to developing a vaccine with protective immune response to the parasite. Adjuvants are essential for vaccine formulation to create strong immune r...

This experiment was conducted for evaluating the humoral immune responses induced by Poly Lactide-co-Glycolide Acid (PLGA) microspheres coupled inactivated Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) vaccine in comparison to an ‘in-house’ prepared inactivated and a live commercial vaccine. PLG microparticles containing inactivated NDV were prepared by a double emulsion technique based on solvent evaporation ...
متن کاملPotentiation of human papilloma vaccine candidate using naloxone/alum mixture as an adjuvant: increasing immunogenicity of HPV-16E7d vaccine
Objective(s): Many types of human papillomaviruses (HPVs) have been identified, with some leading to cancer and others to skin lesions such as anogenital warts. Studies have demonstrated an association between oncogenic HPV and cervical cancer and many researchers have focused on therapeutic vaccines development. At present, the modulatory effect of opioids on the innate and acquired immune sys...

Introduction: Hepatitis is a systemic diseasethat causes liver inflammation. The prevention of this infection is a vaccination. The commonly used vaccine to fight this disease is to use the vaccine formulated with Alum. This vaccine cannot provide immune response and complete productivity in some people. In this study, cellular and humoral immune responses of hepatitis B vaccine were compared w...
متن کاملEffect of IL-2 co-expressed or co-inoculated with immuno-dominant epitopes from VP1 protein of FMD virus on immune responses in BALB/c mice
Objective(s): The results of studies on vaccine development for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) virus show that the use of inactivated vaccines for FMD virus is not completely effective. Novel vaccinations based on immuno-dominant epitopes have been shown to induce immune responses. Furthermore, for safety of immunization, access to efficient adjuvants against FMD virus seems to be critical.Materi...
